Let's Get Hopping #32 Scrap It

Hello and welcome to my blog.
Today the Let's Get Hopping team are showcasing projects using scraps.
This could be offcuts from designer series paper, negative space left from a die cut or punch or stamped images that didn't make the cut for a project.
I have had a lot of fun creating with the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle. It is a firm favourite of mine.
Creating this card was a bit tricky, but I love how it turned out.

If you look carefully at my photo you can see that the black pieces that make up my flowers are pieces of card stock.

When you run the Sunflower shape through your die cutting machine, you get the shape below, but leave behind all those little petals. I decided to use those 'scraps' to make my card. I had some leftover adhesive sheets (now retired) so attached some to a piece of Basic Black card stock. I then placed the die on the front and ran it through my die cutting machine. When you remove the die, with a bit of luck all the petals stay put. You can then flip it over and very carefully using your take your pick tool, remove the backing from each petal.  Once all the backing is removed from the petals only, take a piece of Whisper White card stock and lay it down over the die pressing firmly. When you flip it over and peel the white off, all the black petals will be stuck down in the shape of the flower. The rest of the Sunflower shape will just lift off as you have not removed the adhesive. You then need to use the outline die of the Sunflower to cut the outside shape. Just place it over your black petals, line it up and cut. I hope this makes sense. Please feel free to contact me if you need any more clarification. I have made lots of Sunflower cards and thought it was such a shame all these little petals go to waste.

Next on the 'hop' list is the very talented Mikaela Titheridge
